| About us | We are a grassroots development-level football club for boys and girls born in 2011 which was set up to encourage children from the local area to take part in physical activity and to be part of a team. Our club is based is Fernhill, which is an area suffering from high levels of poverty and deprivation. The club currently plays in division 3 of the Glasgow and District Youth Football League. |
| Our Wish | We would like to request a financial donation to help with general running costs including pitch hire for training, the cost of which has increased over the years and is expected to increase further in April 2024. We will also use the donation to purchase training kits for the kids as they have outgrown their old kits. We would also like to buy baselayers and gloves for the kids to wear during the winter, as many of the families cannot afford to buy this for the kids, and they are really struggling to stay warm during training and on matchdays. Although we charge a monthly fee for each child, it is well below the average monthly fee for other football clubs in the area. We want to be as inclusive as we possibly can and we understand that sometimes parents are unable to pay the fees, so in the past the Board has agreed to reduce the fees or not charge fees at all in months where parents/guardians are really struggling. Recently, one family welcomed a new baby and were worried that they could not afford to pay the monthly fees, so the Board agreed to forego the fees for a few months as the boy loves playing football and loves being part of the team. The Board also agreed to buy replacement football boots for a child who turned up to play a match just before Christmas in one football boot and one trainer. His family couldn’t afford new boots, but the child was so desperate to play football that the club was keen to help out, as it feels unfair that money should be a barrier to letting children do something they enjoy.
