| About us | "Calderglen Craft Club is a community-based club that is open to pupils and their parents to attend afterschool. The project offers school pupils and their parents the opportunity to meet socially with others in a safe and welcoming environment, offering friendship, connection and a sense of purpose. Also on offer is the opportunity to build individual and group capacity by sharing skills, knowledge and experiences with both teachers and the parents themselves. This helps build stronger community links with the school and the department. Many of our parents are tradesman and this also helps us to build future career links with potential employers as well. The club runs after school hours before 6pm and uses workshop facilities already in the department. Also an after school Football club for those who struggle to attend paying clubs. These young people need some kit for them to start playing the local school clusters of teams. " |
| Our Wish | Our wish is to receive a donation of wood (either Softwood, Hardwood or Manufactured Board) to allow your community club to build new projects, develop skills, but more importantly create a strong link with parents, pupils and teachers to work together and engage with the kinds of work they do in school more. We would also wish for the company who donates the material to become a strong community partner with our school and even help with future work experience opportunities |
