About usKilbryde is the local hospice for South Lanarkshire (except Clyde Valley). We provide palliative care for people with a life limiting illness and do so by offering an inpatient unit, outpatient community services, home support service and wellbeing. We are a registered charity.
Our WishMemories are very precious, the story of our life and what shaped us to who we are. When someone dies, these are often forgotten or diluted and sadly, how our voice sounded is gone. Here at Kilbryde we wish to train some staff and volunteers to become 'biographers' and to offer patients the chance to record their life story on to a digital device for their families to keep. What a wonderful gift to leave for family generations to come or for the child who 'cant remember mummy's voice or her singing to me'. The company who offer the training are no longer able to do this free of charge and it will now cost £200 per person trained. We are able to cover the cost of 2 people to be trained. Our wish is whether you see this as a worthy cause to consider a donation to cover the cost of training 2-4 more of our staff/volunteers? Total cost £400-£800
