Consultation summary and background | ) South Lanarkshire's four Divisional Licensing Boards are undertaking a review of their statements of Licensing Policy n in order to agree and implement a new policy statement. Following initial evidence gathering the Board has agreed the terms of a draft policy and is seeking a wide range of views and responses before it comes to a final decision. As part of this process the board is carrying out an assessment of localities in the Board's area to decide whether there is overprovision of licensed premises. Details of localities which may be subject to overprovision are included in the draft policy. |
Why are we consulting? | Each Licensing Board is responsible for making decisions about premises selling alcohol in its area. It must have a policy statement setting out how it will make decisions, and before finalising its policy it must carry out a consultation. |
