| About us | Calderside ELC was officially opened in November 2006 to children and families. We are open 52 weeks a year. The centre opening hours are 8am – 6pm. Children attend in a variety of patterns to meet the needs of families, this could be full days, part days and morning or afternoon sessions. Creativity at Calderside ELC is the foundation of all learning. It is a life skill to be valued and promoted by staff who engage with children and their families in an environment that encourages curiosity and thinking skills. We aim to provide a high-quality childcare service within a happy, stimulating, safe environment for children, parents/carers, and students where everyone is encouraged and supported to reach their full potential. We strive to ensure that we consider a curriculum which encompasses the values, capacities, and principles of the Curriculum for Excellence, which has breadth, balance, and challenging opportunities for all children and considers individual children, their development, and interests. |
| Our Wish | We have a large outdoor play area and it needs a revamp of natural outdoor resources such as mud kitchen, planters, areas for the children to sit and also a possible 4 foot fence with a gate to secure the area better.
