| About us | REACH Lanarkshire Autism, established in 2012, is a Lanarkshire wide charity which provides activities and support for children with autism and their families. We provide weekly and holiday activities for the children and young people as well as emotional and practical support alongside training for parents and carers. We work with over 600 young people and number is growing increasingly throughout Lanarkshire because of the lack of services and the diagnostic waiting lists that are increasingly growing. We have a variety of face-to-face activities for young people to promote positive mental well-being and reduce risk of anxieties that these individuals are facing. These activities for young people include sports, drop ins, employability, sensory focused groups and art groups. Young people with ASD struggle to go to activities due to their autism & sensory needs. The majority of time excluded in mainstream environment, struggling to integrate with peers and participating in busy and noisy activities increases a baseline of higher levels of anxiety. These children and young people can participate in groups to address this anxiety such as social contact by making friends. We know from experience that this social interaction helps reduce anxiety levels. |
| Our Wish | Our wish is the donation of goods and materials. We would love our office to be more welcoming for families. The office requires new flooring for the whole office. The office consists of a hallway, main office and a sensory room with kitchen. |
