| About us | We are a small community garden group based in Cambuslang and Rutherglen. We maintain the garden by planting vegetables and flowers which our local community can enjoy. Our location of the garden, which is situated next to high-rise flats, creates opportunities for local residents to visit the garden and socially interact or if they choose, can help in the garden. We also hold training sessions in our gazebo for educational and learning opportunities. Our garden which includes benches and a picnic table is accessible for wheelchair users. The garden has been in existence for 8 years and was originally developed by the local tenants and residents association. Unfortunately, this was disbanded in 2019 and now a group of volunteers continue to keep the garden beautiful. |
| Our Wish | We currently have a small shed but require a much larger shed to allow more room for volunteers to help in the maintenance of the garden. This would allow us to store more tools, fertilizers, plants and hold a potting table. It would also allow us to increase the amount of water we store in water butts, which is becoming more vital as the climate changes. The shed size would be approximately 10' x 8' (maximum) and would last for many years to come. |
