Idea	There is a lot of rubbish in Blantyre. A lot of the bins (particularly in parks) are small and uncovered, leading to issues with seagulls etc pulling rubbish out and spreading it. I think it would be great to have more covered bins in public areas
Response	The council are in the process of reviewing their current bin provision throughout the authority. We are aware that the open top bins can be an issue and birds and other animals are able to access and remove some of the waste on occasion. We have recently purchased a different pole mounted bin which is now fitted with a hood to prevent this issue and we will be rolling these out in the coming months.
