Response | The Scottish Parliament has passed the Transport (Scotland) Act, which makes it illegal to park on any footway, except on streets where the council makes an Exemption Order to allow such parking. The council is currently awaiting guidance from Transport Scotland with respect to the enforcement of the new offences and appropriate locations for Exemption Orders. Once such guidance has been received and implemented, then the new offences will be enforced by the council’s Parking Attendants. It is anticipated that this will take place towards the end of 2023. |
