SWiSplus replacement system

| Summary | A new off the shelf Social Care system is being implemented it is anticipated the timescale for this will be approximately 18 to 24 months. The aim of new system is to replace the existing SWiSplus system which has been in place since 1994. The system will hold information relating to approximately 1700 people in South Lanarkshire who have been or are known to have had social care involvement. There is a requirement for a PIA due to the processing/storing of personal data. It was identified that the information included personal data, special category personal data and may include personal data relating to criminal convictions/offences. Thorough consideration has been taken in relation to the storage and sharing of the data subject, the categories of personal data and the legislation which gives the council the powers to process the information. An assessment of the overall level of risk in relation to storing and sharing the information has also been considered. SLC are noted in this process as the data controllers and the service provider would be the data processors. |
