| Aims and Objectives | It is proposed to redesign and centralise the service in order to provide a targeted streamline screening service, to make it more flexible and responsive to the needs of the public. The re-designed service will be supported by locality based staff who will undertake a screening service when home visits are required. |
| Conclusion | In line with the continuous improvement and service development agenda the Reception Service, for the past 18 months, has been subject to ongoing reviews in order to establish a best system to deliver the service in the most efficient, effective and responsive way. Through consultation with staff and services, a number of models were considered. However, through those consultations, a streamlined service delivery model was considered to be the most suitable option at this time. At this stage, if this model is accepted, it will be implemented in conjunction with local office social work staff/services. This model will continue to provide a similar level and quality of service to the public. The re-design of reception services will see the service continuing to be delivered albeit in a different manner; service users will still have a service based on need and have their individual needs taken into account. Therefore it is not anticipated that the re-design of the service will adversely impact on service users. Where someone requires an office visit or a home visit, this will be provided by staff who are based in the local offices of that service age group (i.e. Child & Family, Adult Care, etc.). There will be an impact on the staff currently delivering the service by the reduction in posts required, however anyone effected by this will be redeployed into other jobs across social work service. |
