Location | Larkhall civic amenity/recycling centre is a small site on the Strutherhill Industrial Estate off the main Larkhall to Stonehouse road is operated by Biffa. |
Opening times | 1 April to 30 September opening hours: Monday to Friday: 9am to 8pm Saturday: 9am to 7pm Sunday 9am to 6pm 1 October to 31 March opening hours: Monday to Sunday: 8am to 5pm Closed Christmas Day and New Year's Day The site closes completely for health and safety reasons when skips are being emptied/moved. |
What you can dispose of at this site | There are skips for green waste, scrap metal, construction waste, cardboard and general waste. You can also dispose of bottles/jars, food and drinks cans, paper, textiles, books, used motor oil, gas bottles and canisters (used for camping and barbeques), household fire extinguishers and car batteries. Waste electrical and electronic equipment (WEEE) including fridges, freezers, fluorescent light bulbs, televisions and monitors for recycling purposes. |
What you can't dispose of at this site | Commercial, acetylene, industrial size cylinders and large CO2 cylinders will not be accepted. If you are disposing of household/garden renovation materials, you must hire a skip or make your own disposal arrangements. Tradesperson generated work is not classed as household waste and they should arrange disposal of the waste. Disposal information | Fridges/freezer must be emptied of all food and defrosted Liquid paint must be solidified by either adding a paint hardener or sand/soil. |
Vans or cars with trailers | We accept household waste in cars and vans up to 3.5t in weight and vehicles with trailers less than 2.4m long x 1.2m wide. No tipper vehicles are allowed. |
Accessibility and support | This site is attended and assistance is normally available on request. |
Health and safety | There is no pedestrian access to this recycling centre and children/pets should remain in vehicles at all times. Smoking is not permitted on site. |
Waste from charities | Charities remain able to dispose of recyclable waste including metal, wood, cardboard and textiles (in the textile banks provided). Domestic waste and bulky items from charities is not currently accepted at our sites. |
