Aims and ObjectivesIt is proposed to introduce a charge for the residential respite care service for children. The proposed charge would be based on an assessment of the parent/carer?s ability to pay ranging from no charge up to a maximum limit, which is still to be determined and will be subject to the cost of the service.







ConclusionIt is proposed to implement a charging policy for residential respite care within child and family services. The residential respite service is currently provided free of charge for children. The charge would be based on an assessment of ability to pay, ranging from no charge to a maximum limit, which is still to be determined and will be subject to the cost of the service.
