Aims and Objectives | The South Lanarkshire Local Plan Travel Demand Policies set out the landuse planning requirements relating to the provision of transportation services and infrastructure in South Lanarkshire. The policies' objctives are to: - Ensure that transport supports and facilitates regeneration and sustainable development - To alleviate the adverse impacts of traffic and traffic growth throughout South Lanarkshire - Promote accessibility through enhancing access for all, especially those without a car, to key services, job opportunities and community facilities and through the development of accessible and affordable public transport. |
Conclusion | The conclusion of this initial impact assessment is that there are no adverse impacts on any part of the community covered by equalities legislation, or on community relations. This is due to the nature of the Travel Demand policies which identify the land use planning requirements in relation to the provision of new developments. Detailed design requirements for new developments are addressed in other policies within the Local Plan. Consultation on all Local Plan policies is undertaken in accordance with the requirements of the Town and Country Planning legislation |
