Aims and Objectives | As part of the Council?s Best Value review of the Shopmobility Unit in Hamilton, it has been agreed to transfer the management of the unit from Regeneration Services to Roads and Transportation Services. As part of the rationalisation process the Unit will move from the New Cross Centre to Duke Street multi-storey car park.

Conclusion | The transfer of the Shopmobility Unit from its current location within the New Cross Centre in Hamilton to Duke Street Multi-storey car park will best preserve this facility in these tough economic times. An assessment of the proposed new location has been carried out by both the Council?s Health and Safety officers and representative of the service users. Safe routes to and from the shops have been identified and will be passed onto the service users.
