Conclusion | This initial equality impact assessment has identified the need to analyse the policy on the basis of age, gender, disability and ethnicity of employees who are taking advantage of flexible retirement. The Council also needs to monitor the number of employees on this basis, who request and are refused flexible retirement. An action plan has been developed to do this and a full assessment will be carried out in 12 months. There are currently no concerns that the policy has an negative impact on any one group.
