Aims and Objectives | South Lanarkshire Council is committed to the principle of equality in employment and therefore that women and men should receive equal pay for the same or broadly similar work, for work rated as equivalent and for work of equal value.

Conclusion | The conclusion of this initial equality impact assessment is that there are no adverse impacts on any part of the community covered by equalities legislation, or on community relations. The policy is employee focused and has been designed specifically to eliminate any sex/gender bias from pay. There is a regular period of review to ensure that the policy does this and as a result of this assessment it has been recommended that future reviews will also consider all other equality strands to ensure no bias.
