Health Improvement Training and Learning

The NHS Lanarkshire Health Improvement Department offers a range of training and learning opportunities aligned to Scotland’s six public health priorities.  Please go to our page, select your topic of interest by clicking on one of the tiles and this will take you to information on available e-learning, online courses and face-to-face sessions to support your learning journey.

Please note certain courses are only available to NHS Lanarkshire staff and some courses require a Learn Pro or NHS Education Scotland, TURAS account.

Local people are welcome to attend our training courses namely:

  • Health Issues in the Community (HIIC).  This is offered to community groups;
  • Brief introduction to smokeless nicotine products;
  • Vape awareness;
  • Understanding mental health stigma and discrimination;
  • Ask Tell – mental health and suicide prevention awareness;
  • Alcohol awareness;
  • Cannabis awareness;
  • Second hand smoke training;
  • IMPACT – mental health and tobacco training;
  • Sleep and health and well-being workshops; and
  • Foetal alcohol spectrum disorder training.
