If you want to keep or open a pet shop you must apply for a licence.

How the application is dealt with

We will check your application then arrange a visit to inspect your shop, sometimes with a vet.

This can take around four weeks but can vary.

It is in the public interest that we process your application before it can be granted so tacit consent will not apply. If you haven't heard from us within 28 days  contact Environmental Services and we'll tell you the progress of your application.
